

Born in Providence, a son of the late Florio and Margaret (Ciolli) Imondi; beloved husband of the late Ann Marie (Mancini) Imondi; devoted father of Gina Imondi, Rhonda Saccoccio, John Imondi, and Melissa Pistocco; cherished grandfather of 7; great-grandfather of 4; brother of Edward “Eddie” Imondi, Marilyn Santagata and the late Robert Imondi.
Gus had a colorful career and abundant life. In 1955 he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Alaska. Within a short period of time he was promoted to Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1957. Upon returning home he then enlisted in the Army Reserves for 6 years. He also pursued a short career as a barber, following in his fathers and sisters footsteps . Gus later branched out to work for B.A. Dario as the General Manager at a Toyota dealership from 1968-1974. During that same time until 1982 Gus worked closely with his brother and B.A. Dario promoting boxing events, both in-state and nationally. Gus spent the remaining time in his career at Nissan of Smithfield where he was well known for wearing his sharp suits and those famous cowboy boots. He was an incredible car salesman, which was proven by him achieving acknowledgment and earning the title as one of the top Car Salesmen in the country before retiring in 2008.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 11:00 AM in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial with Military Honors will be private.
