PROVIDENCE - GRIMES, Honorable Robert C., 73, died Wednesday at Elmhurst Extended Care Facility in Providence. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles and Dora (Taillon) Grimes, and was a lifelong city resident. Mr. Grimes had been an insurance adjuster for several years until his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserve. He was elected a State Senator from District 8 in Providence, and served for two terms, from 1961 thru 1964. He was a former member of the Providence 8th Ward Democratic Committee. He was 1958 graduate of Providence College and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his aunt Anita Ginnerty, and several cousins. His funeral service will be Friday at 12 noon in the St. Ann Cemetery Chapel, Cranston St., Cranston. www.boyleandsonfuneralhome.com
