Howard A.Brett, Jr., 78, of Young Ave, died Saturday at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret E. (Gilhooly) Brett. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Howard and Theresa (Fagan) Brett.Before retiring in 1992, Mr. Brett was employed with the City of Providence Traffic Engineering Department for over 26 years. Howard was a faithful communicant of Saint Patrick Church, a member of the parish Intercessory Prayer Group, and a devoted member of the Third Order of Saint Francis.He leaves a daughter, Claudia Brett; a son, Christopher Brett; and three grandsons, Peter, Andrew and Brendan.The funeral will be held Saturday, at 9:00 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:oo am in Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8 pm.
