Jacqueline Teverow Factor, of Boynton Beach, Florida, daughter of Abraham George and Sarah Helen (Tarnapol) Blotcher died in Boynton Beach on Sunday, January 08, 2012. She was married to the late Joseph Teverow and to the late Abraham Factor.
Jackie was born on September 4th, 1926 in Mattapan, MA. She grew up in Pawtucket, graduated from the University of Rhode Island, and settled in Providence with her husband Joseph Teverow to raise their four children.
Throughout her life, Jackie was devoted to the Jewish community. As a young woman, she led a Habonim youth group, and later played a prominent role in Pioneer Women (Na’amat). Jackie managed to find the energy for these activities even while working, first as a teacher, then as a social worker for the state of Rhode Island. A lifelong student/learner with far-ranging curiosity, Jackie never stopped growing intellectually. Even into her 80’s she continued to participate avidly in bible study groups.
She was an avid reader of literature with a passion for bridge, movies, theater and music, family history, and the Narragansett beach, all of which she shared enthusiastically with immediate and extended family and her wide network of close, lifelong friends in Rhode Island and in Florida, where she had lived since 1999.
Jackie was the sister of the late Robert Blotcher and the late Barbara Blotcher Davidson, and the devoted sister-in-law of Lillian Blotcher Westervelt. She leaves her children, Paul (Laura) Teverow of Joplin, Missouri; Joshua (Cindy) Teverow of Narragansett and Palm Beach; Lee Teverow of Warwick; and Philip (Josephine) Teverow of Brooklyn, NY. She delighted in her five grandchildren, Erica, Jill, Rosie, Henry and Ruben.
