

He was born in Pawtucket, R.I. on November 14, 1942 , a son of the late John and Sarah Blake Benkosky.
Benny worked for the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company for 47 years before retiring. He served in the Rhode Island National Guard and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Cranston, RI Council 1738.
His wife and children were the center of his life. He spent his final years caring for his wife of 52 years, Lorraine Benkosky, determined to help her remain at home in the face of a chronic, degenerative illness. With the help of his sons he worked so very hard to give his wife the increasing level of care she required.
Survivors include his wife Lorraine A. Benkosky; Sons Eric J. Benkosky and James S. Benkosky Jr.; Brother Raymond Benkosky and his wife Candace, of Venice Florida. He was preceded in death by a sister Margaret "Peggy" Napierski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Saint Matthew Church, corner of Elmwood and Park Avenues in Cranston at 11:00 am on Friday, March 13, 2020. A memorial reception will follow at 1:00 pm at The Knights of Columbus Cranston RI Council #1738 located at 70 Pettaconsett Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920.
