WarwickJames R. Courtney, Jr. 61, of Haverford Road, died peacefully Monday, December 19, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda Lee (Denton) Courtney. They were married for thirty-nine years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James R. Courtney, Jr. and Marion E. (Huff) Courtney, and grandson of the late Charles W. Huff. Jim was a manager for Cookson America Special Alloys Division for many years before retiring. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Chris, Tim and James, III; three daughters, Kimberly, Liz and Tara; a sister, Nancy E. Courtney-Lemois; and ten grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday, at 9:00 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Paul Church, Cranston. Burial will be in East Greenwich Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, 5 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to V.N.A.
