

James W. Lennon, Sr., 92, passed away March 17, 2012 at the Miriam Hospital. He had been the beloved husband of Irene R. (Locke) Lennon for 69 years, with whom he was soon to share their 70th wedding anniversary.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret (McKenzie) Lennon; devoted father of James W. Lennon Jr. and wife Sandra, Deborah L. Moura and husband Edward, Cheryl A. Bagaglia and husband Tony; cherished grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 4; brother of Raymond and Eugene Lennon, Shirley Weakley and the late Edward, Thomas, Joseph and Rita Lennon.
Mr. Lennon started his 65 year career as a machinist at Gorham Manufacturing, continued on as an Officer and V.P. of the United Steel Workers Union District Division and retired from ADP at the age of 85. He served as an associate at Holy Cross Church for 40 years. He loved his family and spent many hours with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His enjoyment through the years included fishing, casinos, bowling and especially traveling with his family.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 4-7 p.m. with a funeral service on Friday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence, followed by burial in Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence.
