James L. Semper, Jr., 97, formerly of Cranston, passed away September 16, 2015. He was the devoted husband of the late Angela V. (Lanfredi) Semper for 63 years, and son of the late James and Esther (Tennant) Semper. He was loving brother to the late Mary Ride and Edwin Semper. He was a treasured father to his daughter, Diane Litterick, of Fort Lauderdale. He also leaves behind loved nieces and nephews.
A graduate of LaSalle Academy and Bryant College, Mr. Semper was a manager in the jewelry industry for many years before retiring. He was also a World War II Army Veteran, serving in the Medical Detachment 83rd Infantry Regiment.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial, with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James’s memory to the St. Bartholomew Memorial Fund.
