Dr. John A. Malark DVM

He was born in Providence, the son of Morris Malark and Barbara (SISTO) Malark of North Providence. He was the husband of Dr. Carmela (Chmielwicz) Malark, DVM of South Carolina for 25 years.

John was the beloved father of Connor and Cara Malark of South Carolina; brother of Steven Malark (Gail) and Mariann (Malark) Rachko (Joseph); uncle of Jared Rachko all of North Providence.

John developed an early love of horses by engaging in an array of horse riding activities, including competitive calf roping. He received a Bachelor of Science in 1982 and DVM in 1986 from Michigan State University. John then performed an internship in equine medicine and surgery at the University of Georgia with an equine surgical residency at the University of Florida and Cornell University. He worked for a number of years in private practice in Michigan, South Carolina, and at the Belmont Race Track in New York, as an equine surgeon. John established the Edisto Equine Clinic in 1995 which has served the horse owners of the low country ever since.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. in The Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence.
