John McGarry

John Joseph Patrick McGarry, 78, of Seekonk, MA, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Irene C. (Simoneau) McGarry. They were married for 53 years.Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John J. Sr. and Anna (Lenihan) McGarry.He worked for Narragansett Electric Company, now known as National Grid, for 40 years, retiring in 1997.An avid sports fan, he loved all of the New England sports teams.Besides his wife, he leaves his two children, Raymond M. McGarry, of Seekonk, and Colleen F. Coelho, of Warwick; three grandchildren, Ryan R. Coelho, John J. Villari, and Emily A. Villari; and his dog, Sophie. He was the father of the late John J. McGarry and Kelly A. Villari, and brother of the late, Anne McGarry and Margaret DeFalco.John's funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:15 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am, in Saint Joseph Church, 92 Hope Street, Providence.
