

ProvidenceJoseph Baris, 75, of Westmore Street, died Friday at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Barbara F. (Sepe) Baris, and loving companion of Louise Lovejoy. Born in Providence, a son of the late Nicola and Elvira (Tora) Baris, he was a lifelong Providence resident. Joe was a truck driver for the M.A. Gammino Construction Company for many years, before retiring. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 251. He was also the owner of the Liquor Basket, on Reservoir Avenue, for several years. An avid fisherman, and hunter, he enjoyed being outdoors, and also loved to travel. Beside his companion Louise, he leaves a son, West Warwick Fire Department Chief Joseph Baris, Jr. and his wife Lani; a brother, Robert Baris; a sister, Sister Clara Baris, C.P.; two grandchildren, Joseph Baris, III and his wife Carrie, Courtney Milburn and her husband Gregory; and a great-granddaughter, his little honey, Jillian Paige Baris. The funeral will be held Tuesday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Christ the King Church, 120 Legris Avenue (Rt117) West Warwick. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Monday, 4 - 8 pm.
