Joyce Ann Masterson

NarragansettJoyce Ann Masterson, 67, of Camden Road, died peacefully Thursday, December 22nd, 2011, at home, with her daughters by her side. She was the loving wife of John R. Masterson. They were married for forty-three years.Born in Providence, a devoted daughter of Donald Hainey of East Providence and the late Katherine (Joyce) Hainey, she lived in Providence for most of her life before moving to Narragansett twenty years ago.After graduating from St. Mary Academy - Bay View, Joyce was a manager and corporate trainer for New England Telephone Company, as well as Bell Atlantic and Verizon for over 30 years before retiring. During retirement, Joyce was an instructor at Curves in North Kingstown.She was a communicant of Saint Veronica Chapel, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid beach-goer who could be found most summers at the Narragansett Town Beach or playing with her beloved dog, Rosie.Beside her husband John, she leaves three daughters. She was the proud mother of Kelly A. Masterson, Katherine M. Kerr and her husband Michael, and Donna A. Masterson. She also leaves her aunt, Alice T. Roy and her best friend of over forty years, Ann B. Doyle.The funeral will be held Wednesday, at 8:30 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Veronica Chapel, Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours Tuesday, 4 - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Rhode Island Hospital, 593 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02903 in her memory will be appreciated.
