Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Liberato C. and Gaetana “Ida” (DiTusa) Melillo. He is survived by his daughters, Robin and husband Jason Regine of Brooklyn, CT, Karen Melillo of Providence, Christine Melillo of West Palm Beach, FL, and Lynne Womack of Coventry. He was the brother of Rosalie Prignano of Providence and the late Anthony Melillo of Methuen, MA.
Richard enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his dog. He was the owner of Mighty Appliance, an appliance repair business, for many years before retiring and had served in the U.S. Army.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday, 9:30-11:30 a.m. with a service at 11:30 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. www.pontarellimarinofunerals.com.
