

Johnston-Margaret Mary (Newton) Logan, 75, of Johnston formerly of Providence and Narragansett, passed away Monday April 30, 2012 surrounded by her family after a valiant display of courage at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, FL. She was the beloved wife of James T. Logan to whom she was happily married to for 54 years. Margaret was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (McCormick) Newton. She will be sadly missed and forever cherished by her children, Ruthanne Logan of Narragansett, Karen Dowd and husband Chris of Clive, IA, Margaret Leveille and husband Jeffrey of Smithfield, Maureen Gillmore and husband David of Johnston, and James T. Logan III and wife Vicki of Attleboro, MA. Besides her husband and children, she was the proud and loving grandmother of Rainer, Marc, Amanda, Abigail, David, Connor, JT, Luke and Jake. Margaret was employed by BIF Industries and the Providence Water Supply Board. After raising her family, she retired with her husband James in Juno Beach, Florida where she enjoyed golfing, traveling, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. She will mostly be remembered for her nurturing ways and for being a great example of what a true friend, wife, and mother should be. Her funeral will be held Monday at 11:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rte. 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence, at 1 pm. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4 to 8 pm.
