

Crowley, Maryann L, 75, of Williamsburg Circle, Warwick, passed away Saturday, December 29 at the Village at Waterman Lake after a long illness. Born in Providence on October 3rd, 1932, daughter of the late John F. and Anna L. (Boyle) Brown, she graduated from Holy Name School, St. Patrick's High School and Rhode Island College. She will be deeply missed by her daughters: Kathleen C. Fagan (son-in-law Christopher Fagan) of Niskayuna, NY, Susan M. Crowley (son-in-law Michael Schroeder) of Westwood, MA and Christine M. Dowding (son-in-law Glenn Dowding) of Warwick. She leaves eight beloved grandchildren: Ryan and Kate Fagan; Jessie, Ali, Leah and Kyle Schroeder; and Brendan and Andrew Dowding. Maryann is also survived by her brother, John F. Brown, Jr., formerly of Pawtucket, now of Portland, CT and her sister, Nancy A. Bradley of Newark, OH. She was the sister of the late Judge Francis B. Brown and Paul E. Brown. Many nieces and nephews also mourn her loss. Mrs. Crowley was a teacher in the Warwick School Department for 25 years and introduced hundreds of kindergartners to the magic of reading and the excitement of learning. It was a common occurrence for friends and family to see teenagers and adults approach her with an enthusiastic, "Mrs. Crowley! Remember me? You were my kindergarten teacher!" In addition to her accomplishments as mother and teacher, she also served as a Union Rep for AFT Local 915. After her retirement, she worked as hostess at the Governor Francis Inn, where her vivacious personality welcomed friends and made friends of strangers. Her Funeral will be held on THURSDAY at 7:45am from The RUSSELL J. BOYLE & SON Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd. WARWICK, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Catherine Church, Post Rd. at 9am, Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
