

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Maurice and Marguerite (Demene) Champagne; beloved husband of Marilyn (Gesualdi) Champagne; devoted father of Danielle R. Gemma and her husband Jason, Jason M. Champagne and his wife Erica and Cody A. Champagne and his wife Ashley; cherished grandfather of Charissa Champagne, Ethan Gemma, Aidan Champagne, Isabella Gemma, Dylan Champagne, Olivia Grace Gemma, Rylan Champagne, Nathan Champagne, Jameson Champagne, and Emilia Champagne; brother of Michelle Henault, Colette Champagne and the late Nichole Champagne.
Maurice spent his best days playing with his ten grandchildren and attending their sports games throughout the years. He loved to visit the ocean and enjoyed his favorite Iggy’s clam cakes and chowder. He was an avid New England sports fan and spent many evenings yelling at the T.V. His favorite pastimes were listening to music, going fishing and working around the yard. Maurice was a huge family man and will be dearly missed. He received his bachelors degree in business administration from Johnson and Wales University and he had retired from Calise Bakery as a sales representative.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Friday, 9:30-10:30AM from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Grace Church, 15 George Waterman Road, Johnston. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, https://giving.lifespan.org/Hasbro/Donate.
