Michael D. Astin, 41, a longtime resident of Franklin, MA and currently of Woonsocket, RI, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013. Born in Attleboro, MA, he was a son of the late Georgia McLaughlin Astin and Robert A. Astin, Sr.
Michael graduated from Franklin High School, Class of 1989 and recently enjoyed getting in touch with many of his former classmates. Michael went on to graduate from Framingham State College. He was an avid Boston Sports Fan and loved to debate plays, players and stats. He had an eclectic taste for music and a passion for wrestling.
Besides his father, who was his best friend “buddy”, he is survived by his half-brother Robert A. Astin, Jr.; and his half-sister Diane. Michael is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, January 11th from 2-3 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, RI.
