Michael R. Marra

WarwickMichael R. Marra, 84, of Warwick, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Care Center. He was the beloved husband of Edith (Golato) Marra for the past sixty-two years.Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Cosmo and Stella (Petrucci) Marra.Mike served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War.He was the proprietor of Cowan Plastics Company for over thirty years before retiring, and was a member of numerous professional and civic organizations including the Society of Plastic Engineers, Providence Rotary Club, and the Providence Chamber of Commerce to name a few. He was a faithful communicant of Saint Gregory the Great Church.In addition to his spouse Edith, he leaves a son, Michael G. Marra; a daughter, Doreen A. Bullock; a sister, Evelyn M. Aurelio; and a grandson, Nicholas K. Bullock. He was predeceased by a son, Stephen P. Marra.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning, at 10:00 am, in Saint Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stephen Marra Foundation, P.O. Box 2234, East Greenwich, RI 02818 to benefit Surfers Healing R.I. for Autism and East Greenwich Animal Rescue League will be appreciated.
