Michael Vendetti

He was born on New Year’s Day, 1952, in Milford, Massachusetts, to Lucio and Rosemary (Demoe) Vendetti.

He attended Hopedale High and later went to the University of Miami, where he graduated with a degree in Finance and was captain of the golf team. As a professional golfer, he earned his PGA card and thought golf was his true love until he met the absolute love of his life, Jan (Fridborg) Vendetti, in Sacramento, California. On December 21, 2024, they would have celebrated 40 wonderful years of marriage.

They raised their daughters in Rhode Island, where he owned and operated a real estate company that rehabilitated residential rental properties in the inner city of Providence. He and Jan later retired in Florida before moving to North Carolina to be closer to their daughters. He was an avid reader, a proud Italian-Catholic, enjoyed stock market trading, and any-and-all sports. He will be remembered for being the world’s best dad, his unforgettable laugh, jovialness, and his deep love for his family.

Michael is survived by daughters, Adrienne Vendetti Hodges and Stephanie Vendetti Thomas; sons-in-law, Josh Hodges and Brian Thomas; grandchildren, Beau Michael Thomas and Isla Thomas; sisters, Cheril Vendetti, Kathy Vendetti; and close-cousins, Mary (Vendetti) Phelan, husband, Richard Phelan and their family.

Family, friends, and others Michael touched are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 10:00 am in Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Avenue, Providence.
