Morton Gilstein

GILSTEIN, MORTON, 82, died January 26, 2016. He was the husband of the late Maureen E. (McCormick) Gilstein. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Irving and Anna (Max) Gilstein. Mr. Gilstein was a graduate of Brown University Class of 1955. He worked for many years as a sales manager in the payroll processing industry and worked at Mt. Sinai and Sugarman-Sinai chapels for over 40 years. He was in the US Army serving stateside during the Korean War. Mr. Gilstein was a Brown Class Officer and reunion chair and was a member of the Brown Club, Brown Sports Foundation, Temple Emanu-El, Toastmasters, Knights of Pythias and the Hebrew Free Loan Association. He is survived by his children; Andrea Gilstein of Coral Springs, FL, Judi Herman of Shrewsbury, MA, Wendy Ginsberg of Wellington, FL and Jennifer Secaur of Scituate, MA; and his grandchildren Joshua, Brandon, Jeffrey, Daniel, Colleen, Joseph, Craig and Amanda. He was the brother of the late Howard Gilstein. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 29th at 1:00 PM in Swan Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Society or Brown University Class of 1955. Shiva will be held at his late residence on Fri following interment.
