Born in Providence, Nick was the son of Virginia (Calabro) Cardillo and the late Theodore Cardillo.
He grew up on Federal Hill; a place he carried with him throughout his life. The friendships he formed there remained some of the most important relationships in his life, and many of those friends stood by him from childhood through adulthood.
Nicky was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Anjali M. Coleman, who was the center of his world.
He was known for his generosity, quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor. Everyone who knew Nicky knew that you could always count on him to make you smile or laugh, often when you needed it most.
An avid golfer, Nicky especially cherished his Sunday golf crew, where camaraderie, laughter, and friendly competition were just as important as the game itself. He loved the game of golf and took great pride in keeping his clubs spotless and perfectly maintained.
A true car enthusiast, Nick appreciated craftsmanship, detail, and care in all things he loved.
Nowhere was his devotion more evident than in the love he had for his dog, Nico, who was his constant companion and a source of unconditional comfort and joy and his daughter, Anjali, who was his biggest source of pride and joy.
He was the cherished brother of Robin Salvo and her husband Anthony; loving uncle of Nicole Salvo and Anthony Salvo and his wife Jessica; great-uncle of Owen and Walker; nephew of Elizabeth A. Cardillo and her husband William Lucey; and the devoted companion of Heidi Gelsomino.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, 30 Fenner Street, Providence. Burial will be private.
