Norma Joyce Geranis

Norma J. Geranis (York) of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the former wife of the late John A. Geranis.Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Edith M. (Greenhalgh) York.Norma worked as a receiving clerk for Electrolizing Corporation in Providence, for over ten years.She leaves her daughter, Paula J. Sousa, and her husband, Louis, of Smithfield; two brothers, Donald York, of Cranston and Earl York, of Coventry; a sister, Grace Trottier, of Englewood, Florida; and sister of the late Lillian Maciel. Norma also leaves two grandchildren, Zachary and Andrew Sousa; and her beloved Chihuahua, Marley.Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 9:00 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence. Visiting Hours will be on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
