Patrick James Brown

Brown, Patrick J., 89, of Valley Crest Dr., West Warwick passed away peacefully March 31, 2020 in the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Mary I. ( Toutoian ) Brown, they were married for 67 years.

Born in Providence he was the son of the late George and Mary ( Burke ) Brown.

Mr. Brown served his country honorably in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. After the war he worked for the Providence Police as a patrol officer. Mr. Brown had a long career with the State of Rhode Island working as an Assistant Administrator at the Institute of Mental Health and would retire as Deputy Director of Personnel at the State House.

Mr. Brown earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College and his Master’s from University of Rhode Island. He was a Coach for 27 years for the Edgewood Little League. Also, Grand Knight of St. Paul’s Knight of Columbus.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Patrick M. Brown and his wife Patrice of Cranston, Kevin C. Brown and his wife Cathy of Warwick, Kathleen A. Hunt and her husband David of Scituate, Timothy G. Brown and his wife Lisa of West Warwick, grandchildren, Christopher Vallot, Michael Brown, Steven Brown, Brittany Hunt, Ryan Hunt and 4 great grandchildren.

Mr. Brown was brother of the late Robert Brown, George Brown, Donald Brown, Roger Brown, John Brown and Lynn Ritzen.
