

Paul was born in Providence, Raised in Bristol, Rhode Island, to the late Frank and Florence (Moran) Silva.
Known for his outgoing and charismatic personality, Paul had a gift for storytelling, connecting with people, and making them feel at ease.
Paul graduated from Bristol High School in June 1971, spent a year studying liberal arts at the Community College of Rhode Island, and later earned an associate’s degree in electronic technology from New England Institute of Technology in 1979.
He spent much of his working life in the Nuclear field, He worked at Invensys and Schneider Electric, Framatome serving as a supervisor on projects across the United States and in Beijing, China. He was respected for his leadership, skills, and dedication to his work.
Outside of work, He had a true passion for food and enjoyed cooking out, often bringing people together over a good meal. Paul loved working with his hands and took pride in fixing and building things. He found peace in swimming and spending time at the beach, where he felt most at ease.
Above all, he will be remembered for strength, his humor, his positivity, and determination.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Lan Silva. His three sons: Paul J. Silva Jr. of Florida, Joshua R. Silva, stationed in Germany, and Jonathan F. Whipple and wife Vanessa of Lacey, Washington. His cherished grandchildren: Cayden and Audriana Whipple. He was brother of Frank Silva of Bristol, and the late Alice Borgia, Patricia Viau, and Marion Soares and he was surrounded by many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on September 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pete Sepe Pavilion in Warren, RI.
