Pauline G. Tremblay, (Lepire), “Mem”, passed away with family by her side on November 11, 2025 at Elmhurst Healthcare Facility, her home for the past 12 years. She faced her physical challenges with courage, strength, and a smile following a spinal cord injury in 2013.
Born in Central Falls, Pauline was the daughter of the late Rose and Armand Lepire and was predeceased by her brother, Roland Lepire, in February.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Karen Zelano-Guilbault of Smithfield, RI (husband Paul) and Robin Fisher of Cape Canaveral, FL (partner Phil), both of whom she lovingly called every evening at 6:30 p.m. Her heart was broken exactly one year ago by the loss of her son, Kevin Desrochers of Providence.
“Mem” was lovingly named by her four grandchildren: Ryan Desrochers of Scituate, RI (wife Kristin), Thomas Zelano of West Warwick, RI (wife Gina), Nicholas Zelano of Louisville, KY (fiancé Keisha), and Annarose Zelano-Beard of Aurora, CO (husband Sean).
Her great-granddaughter Luna Desrochers brought her immense joy, and she cherished visits with Luna, Ryan, and Kristin. Recently, she was blessed with three great-grandsons she fondly called “the babies” — Lorenzo (almost 3 years ), and twin brothers Rocco and Carmine Zelano (18 months). She loved hearing stories of their adventures and of Tommy and Gina’s happy young family.
She also leaves her former daughter-in-law Stephanie Baker and former son-in-law Thomas Zelano, both of whom she remained grateful to have had in her life. Pauline was predeceased by husbands John A. Danz and Henry D. Desrochers. She leaves behind her loved one Paul Tremblay.
Pauline shared a special bond with her Elmhurst family , especially her devoted CNA Anna, and appreciated the care and relationships with Meghan, Joanne, Tina, Darlene, Carla, Kaitlyn, MJ, Amber, Zita, Zoila, Elaine and Nikki, as well as the OT and PT staff and many others. In recent weeks, Hope Health Hospice provided her with compassionate care. She also made dear friends with whom she enjoyed special activities, bingo, crafts, and facility gossip- especially her neighbor Helen. She was always cheered by the visits of the beloved therapy dogs- she was a definite dog lover!
A woman of deep faith, Pauline prayed the rosary daily and had a special devotion to Mary, the Blessed Mother. She loved Disney World, Hallmark Christmas movies, Paul’s shepherd’s pie, all desserts, the Patriots, and the Red Sox. Despite limited use of her hands, she discovered a love for painting and crafts and enjoyed gifting her creations to those she loved.
Pauline was a truly special soul who will be missed beyond words.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 in the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will follow in St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton Street, Providence at 1:15 p.m.
Interment of ashes will be private at a later date.
