

Phethbouly (Peter) Khongsouvankham, aged 55, passed away on March 11, 2025, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Born on November 23, 1969, Peter was known for his love of the outdoors, with a particular passion for fishing, hunting, and cooking.
Peter spent his early career as a chef in various Thai restaurants across Maine and New Hampshire, before relocating to Rhode Island in 1989, where he worked for Foster-Forbes Glass Co and later Clark Cutler. His culinary skills were greatly appreciated by those who knew him, blending his professional expertise with his personal passion for in cooking.
Peter is survived by his mother, Bounthom Khongsouvankham of Woonsocket, RI; his sisters, Bounsy Ngolourarath, Bounsoury Chanthavong, Vongnaly, all from Woonsocket, RI, and Khamsene Greene of Moosup, CT; and his brothers, Sengmany Souvanh of Pawtucket, RI, Nikhom Souvanh, Thoranong Khongsouvankham, both of Woonsocket, RI, and Phouthasong Khongsouvankham of Deltona, FL. He also leaves behind several loving nieces; Somphet Godin, Cora Khongsouvankham, Vanessa Sidavong; and nephews; Timothy Ngolourarath, Luc Phan all of Woonsocket, RI to name a few. Along with many great nieces and great nephews. Peter was preceded in death by his father, Thene Khongsouvankham; his sister, Khamvene Tardiff; and his brother, Sonethanong Khongsouvankham.
A Buddhist service in honor of Peter will be held from 8 am to 11 am on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, RI 02911. Following the service, cremation will take place at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence, RI.
