

Ralph P. Martins, 80, of North Providence, RI passed away October 24, 2024 in Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrini in North Kingston. Born in North Providence he was the son of the late Porfirio and Mary (Soares) Martins.
Ralph worked in the jewelry and precious metals industry for his entire career. He was known for his work ethic, pragmatism and willingness to take on life's trials and tribulations with minimal complaint.
He enjoyed reading, especially books about the American Revolution, the American Civil War, and other aspects of American history. He also enjoyed the water, which included fishing, quahogging and boating. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, a passion he passed down to and shared with his son. He loved to socialize.
He was known by his friends and those around him to be easy going, likeable and possessing a good sense of humor. He had occasional bouts of grouchiness that would often make those around him (and even he himself) eventually laugh. He was a family man, and was happiest when spending time with loved ones.
He leaves behind his sister, Dolores Desroches, a son, Ralph P. Martins Jr., and many nieces and nephews and was the brother of the late Edward, James, Daniel, John Martins, George and Paul Martin. He was a loyal brother, son and father.
His visitation and funeral will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 9:30 AM in St. Anthony’s Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket
