East Providence - Raymond V. Grant, III, 75, of Central Avenue, died Friday at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in East Providence, a son of the late Raymond V. Grant II and Hannah J. (Linehan) Grant, he had lived in the Riverside section of East Providence most of his life. Mr. Grant was a lineman for New England Telephone & Telegraph for several years, and later was a truck driver for North American Van Lines for many years before retiring. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He leaves three sons; David J. Grant, Michael S. Grant, Walter Grant, five daughters; Susan St. Germain, Patricia L. Soscia, Deborah M. Flores, Elizabeth R. VanHale and Hannah C. Grant-Lusignan, a brother; Steven Grant, four sisters; Joan Holmes, Mary Rita Cayer, Barbara Hargreaves, and Rose McCaughey, 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Raymond V. Grant,IV. The committal service will be held Tuesday, at 1:00 pm, in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery Chapel, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial, with military honors, will follow.
