Richard M. DelPonte

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Mario and Marie (Gallonio) DelPonte; beloved husband of Geraldine “Gerry” DelPonte for 47 years; devoted father of Dawn M. Quillen and husband Mark, Richard M. DelPonte Jr. and wife Giana; cherished grandfather of Garret, Alexa, Gianna, Ariana, Francesca, Lucia and Marcella. He also leaves his mother-in-law Mary Russo and his extended family members; brother of the late Marlene DiMeo.

Richard had been the owner and operator of Gerric Inc. and the former President of the Bar-Tan Manufacturing Co. He was also a lifelong member of Quidnessett Country Club and an avid golfer, sports enthusiast fan and card player. His most cherished moments were those spent with his family and friends.

Visitation and funeral services will be held Tuesday, 8-10 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Entombment will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
