JOHNSTON - BOWERS, Robert E., 73, of Park Street, died Sunday at R.I. Hospital. He was the husband of the late Rose H. (Plante) Bowers. Born in Providence, a son of the late Ernest E. and Ethel (Howarth) Bowers, he lived in Cranston for 21 years before moving to Johnston 8 years ago. Mr. Bowers had been a moldmaker for the former M.J. Enterprises for many years until he retired in 1996. He is survived by his children, Rosemarie A. Mancini of Providence, Julie A. Leveille and James R. Bowers both of Johnston; a brother James H. Bowers of Laramie, WY; a sister Virginia Bowers of Pawtucket, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Robert J. Bowers and brother of the late Ernest H. Bowers and Barbara Smith. His funeral will be Thursday at 8:45am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7pm.
