Robert Raymond Fontaine

Fontaine, Robert R. 88, passed away August 7, 2017. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Mary (Rocha) Fontaine.Born in Providence, R.I., he was the son of the late Arthur and Yvonne (Daignault) Fontaine.Robert was a member of the LaSalle Academy class of 1947. Following high school, at the age of 21, he became a proud member of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean conflict. For over 40 years Robert was a professional truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union, local # 251. He was longtime fan of the Chicago Bears.Besides his dear wife, he is survived by his devoted children, Robert Fontaine and his companion, Carol Campanini, Cyndy Fontaine and her husband Chris Wilde, and Lisa Fontaine, his loving grandchildren, Ryan and Danielle Fontaine, Jordan Owensby, and Jaclynn Owensby Russo. Robert was the brother of the late Norman Fontaine. A visitation will be held on Thursday MORNING, from 8 - 9:45 am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Veronica's Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Burial with military honors will follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
