

Robert L. Richard (“Bob”), of Cranston, a loving partner, father and treasured “Grampy”, died peacefully on ¬¬April 4, 2022 at the age of 80 (eight days before his 81st birthday). He was born in Providence to the late Charles and Mary Zita (Paulhus) Richard and was the beloved husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (O’Brien) Richard.
Bob was a graduate of LaSalle Academy in Providence, RI. He enjoyed traveling, visiting lighthouses throughout New England, and spending time in Vermont and Maine. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Joshua.
He is survived by his two daughters Karen Murphy and her husband, Tim, of West Warwick and Donna Almeida and her husband, Dennis of North Providence and their son Joshua. Robert is also survived by his sisters, Jean (Richard) Accinno and Carol Richard, his partner, Edith Petrarca of North Providence, sisters-in-law Beverly Richard, Ruth Healy and her husband George, and a brother-in-law Fred O’Brien and his wife Carol. Bob also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was predeceased by six siblings: Zita (Richard) Cannon, Charles Richard, Norman Richard, Lorraine (Richard) Hogan, David Richard, and Donald N. Richard, Sr.
Visiting hours will be 9-11 am on Saturday, April 9, 2022 followed by funeral service at Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home 331 Smith Street Providence, RI. Robert will be laid to rest at St. Ann’s Cemetery, 73 Church Street, Cranston.
