Robert M. Sholler

He was the beloved husband of the late Carol Diane (Halperin) Sholler, with whom he shared fifty-five years of marriage. He is survived by their two sons, Daniel Sholler and his wife Maja of Westport, CT, and Peter Sholler and his wife Giselle of Hershey, PA. He had four cherished grandchildren: Rebecca, Harrison Chloe, and Rafe. He is preceded in death by his brother Lawrence "Larry" Sholler.

Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Samuel and Rebecca (Wilson) Sholler. Robert graduated from Harvard University in 1957 and from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1961. He practiced as an oral surgeon in Rhode Island caring for his community for more than thirty years. He lived in Barrington from 1971 to 2000, later retiring to Bristol, where he remained until 2017.

Robert deeply enjoyed time with his family, especially sailing, traveling, and sharing life’s moments together. In 2017, he and Carol moved to Connecticut to be closer to their son Daniel and his family. After Carol’s passing in 2019, Robert remained in Connecticut until 2022, when he moved to Charlotte, NC, to live with his son Peter and daughter-in-law Giselle. There, he stayed active at the JCC and was often seen walking through the neighborhood.

In 2024, he moved with Peter and Giselle to Hershey, PA, where he continued to lead an active life and enjoyed traveling with his children and grandchildren.

Robert found joy in sailing, painting and sculpture, puzzles, games, and watching football with his family. He especially treasured time spent in Harbor Springs, Michigan, weekends in New York City and Boston, and visits to Quebec.

He will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and the deep love he shared so freely. His greatest joy was his family, and his presence will be profoundly missed but forever felt in the lives he touched and the memories he helped create.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel at Sharon Memorial Park, 120 Canton Street, Sharon, MA, with burial to follow.
