Barrington Holmes, Shirley Nagle, 88, of Highland Avenue, died early Friday morning, January 19, 2018 at Newport Hospital. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Winford J. and Emily (Powers) Nagle, both of whom resided in Barringon for their entire adult lives. Shirley was a Real Estate Agent for over forty years in both Westchester County, NY and for Coleman Real Estate and Residential Properties of Barrington. She worked full time until her retirement in 2012. Throughout her life she was a devoted animal lover. Shirley was avid tennis and bridge player, who read prodigiously. Even though her rheumatoid arthritis ended her enjoyment of tennis, her bridge group, St. John's Episcopal Church and her subscriptions to the Philharmonic and Second Story Theater were an important focus for her until the end of her life. She was a 1951 graduate of Brown University / Pembroke, loved to travel, and had a lifelong love of archeology and history. She leaves three daughters, Kristin L. Holmes Linder, Holly E. Holmes, and Marnie Fuller Holmes Moody; a brother, Robert W. Nagle; four grandchildren, Matthew, Jesse, Connor, and Katie; and her beloved cat, Maximillian. The funeral will be private. Memorial contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, at: Help Fight RA P.O. Box 1996 Windermere, FL 34786 Arrangements by Russell J.
