Shirley Minkin

Shirley (Sharpstein) Minkin, age 84, of Warwick, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Minkin and daughter, Etha Minkin.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Samuel and Sarah (Covinsky) Sharpstein, she was a graduate of Hope High School, Class of 1957.

Shirley worked at Atlantic Mills for several years before starting a family and raising her three children. A longtime member of the Providence/Warwick Emblem Club #1, Shirley enjoyed doing search-a-word and Jumble puzzles while listening to a Red Sox game or WPRO Talk Radio. She enjoyed having lunch every Friday at Temple Sinai, socializing with friends at her apartment complex and watching Wheel-of-Fortune and Jeopardy.

Survivors include: two children, Harvey Minkin and his wife Fatima Silva-Minkin of Hudson, NH and Ronda Wilk and her husband Keith of Lincoln, RI; two granddaughters, Sarah Chaves and Christina Wilk; one great grandson, Ayden Chaves; brother-in-law, Earl Minkin; one niece; one nephew and one great nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10:00 am in the Priest Chapel at Lincoln Park Cemetery, 1496 Post Road, Warwick.

Shiva will be held at her daughter Ronda’s residence on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, address to be provided upon request.

Arrangements are in the care of Sugarman-Sinai Memorial Chapel, Providence.
