Sidney W. Factor

FACTOR, SIDNEY W., 93, died June 23, 2012 surrounded by his children.  He was the husband of the late Sylvia (Katz) Factor, to whom he was married for 62 years.  Born in Haverhill, MA, a son of the late Max and Fannie (Segal) Factor, he had been a resident of Providence since 1947.  A graduate of MIT and the Lowell Textile Institute, Mr. Factor taught math at Tolman High School until his retirement in 1984.  He was a member of Temple Emanu-El, the Masons, the Knights of Pythias, a volunteer at Miriam Hospital for over 20 years, and a charter member of the Seekonk Swim and Tennis Club.       He is survived by his children, Maxine Kingsbury of Hopkinton, MA, Judith Factor and her husband Robert Wechsler of New Rochelle, NY and R. Maxwell Factor of Providence, with whom Sidney made his home; and his grandchildren Alex, Adam and Diana.  He was the brother of the late Charlotte Yarow.      Funeral services will be held Monday, June 25th at 11:00 AM at Sugarman-Sinai Memorial Chapel, 458 Hope St., Providence with burial in Lincoln Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Friends of Karen, PO Box 190, Purdys, NY 10578 or at www.FriendsOfKaren.org.  Shiva will be observed at his late residence on Mon 7-9, Tue 2-4 & 7-9, and Wed 2-4 PM.
