

She was the beloved wife of Robert Cole who shared their lives for 35 years and the wife of the late James G. Manning.
Born in Lincoln, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Davenport and June L. Davenport. Susan was a loving mother to James P. Manning and his wife Tracy, and son Gary M. Manning.
She was proud to be a grandmother to her many grandchildren: Michael, Gary, Mariah, Carissa, the late James J., Nicholas, Katie, and Aliyah, Michael B., and Damian B. They blessed her with many great grandchildren: Nevaeh, Miguel, Gunner, Logan, Willow, Anthony, Nathan, Victoria, Anthony Jr., Alexion B. and two more to come.
Susan owned G+J Jewelry in Providence, RI in the 70's then later moved on to work at A+H Manufacturing from 1987-1995. She was retired of 23 years from Shaw's supermarket as a deli clerk. Susan was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend who was always there when they needed her the most.
She was cherished by many, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength and was the foundation of the family through and through. When she wasn't filling her home with laughter, warmth, and kindness, she could be found dancing or dining and attending concerts at the casino. She was an excellent bearer of gifts who always knew the right thing to say, never missed a special event, and loved every opportunity to host a cookout or holiday party for family and friends.
Her visitation will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. in the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Ave, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church 1525 Cranston St, Cranston. Burial will be private.
