Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine (DeMatteo) Alessandro.
She was the beloved mother of Donna Pescarino, Anthony A. Pescarino (aka Tony Bristol) and his wife Ann, John R. Pescarino and his companion Lyslie, and Debra A. DeFusco and her companion John; loving grandmother of Talya, Anthony, Gianna and Michael; great-grandmother of Michael; and sister of Carmella Marks and Carmen Alessandro.
Susie had worked as an assembler for A.T. Cross for 15 years before her retirement. She loved her family, cooking, travel and country music and never passed up an opportunity to sing and dance. She loved musicals, attended live shows and welcomed many to her home for fabulous meals.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 3-6 p.m. with her funeral on Monday at 8:15 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:15 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
