Thomas D. Insana

Thomas D. Insana, 63, passed away July 30, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Providence, a son of Elvira (DiGiulio) Insana and the late Dominic Insana. Father of Matthew T. Insana and his wife Judith, Tracy M. Pontarelli, Nicholas J. Insana and his wife Heather, and Christina M. Insana; step-father of Michael and Donald Kirwin; grandfather of Julena, Darrell, Leila, Dominic, Connor, Anthony, Andrew, Benjamin, Adrianna, Alyssa, Evan, Alexis, Zachary, and Kylie; and brother of Paul R. Insana and his wife Sharon, James P. Insana and his wife Gina, and Mathew J. Insana.

Mr. Insana grew up in North Providence and graduated from North Providence High School in 1968. He joined the U.S. Army Reserve that same year, and soon obtained the rank of E-6, Staff Sergeant and served as a drill instructor at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. He was also a respected Plumbing and Heating Contractor/Master Plumber in Rhode Island for over 45 years.

Visitation Friday, 4-7 p.m. with a funeral on Saturday at 8 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, followed by graveside burial with military honors in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
