

Walter F. Riley, 86, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Bernard J. and Eva P. (LeDuc) Riley. Walter worked as bus driver for the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority for many years before retiring. An avid New England sports fan, he loved the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and Boston Celtics. Most of all his dog Shannon was his life. He is survived by his sister Catherine M. (Riley) Smith, of Cranston; and many nieces and nephews. Walter was the brother of the late William Riley, John Riley, and Bernard Riley, Jr. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 10:00 am, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 239 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours will be respectfully omitted.
