Wayne P. Gill

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Nathanial and Elizabeth (Carson) Gill-Thomas.

Wayne was a detective for the Providence Police Department for 23 years and later was chief investigator of the State of RI Parole Board for 10 years before retiring. In addition, he was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the FOP and the Retired Police and Firefighter’s Association and was the former president of TPA. Wayne was also an avid golfer.

He was the brother of William J. Thomas and his wife Samantha and the late N. Anthony Gill and uncle to several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his dog, Nikko.

His funeral and visitation will be held Wednesday at 9:00 am from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial, with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
