

William T. Lang, 86, of Twin River Road, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Heritage Hills Nursing Home. He was the husband of Catherine M. (Toomey) Lang for 63 years.Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Sarah (Ryan) Lang. Bill was a meat cutter for the A&P Market in Scituate, which later became Brigido's Fresh Market IGA, for over fifty years before retiring. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union. He also served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War.Bill was an avid sports fan known to never miss watching a Red Sox game or his beloved PC Friars basketball team, but above all was his family. To know Bill is to know one's love and devotion to family.Besides his wife Catherine, he leaves two sons, William T. Lang Jr., and his wife Estelle, Charles A. Lang, four daughters, Catherine M. Kelleher, Colleen A. Wheeler, Sheila A. Brigido and her husband Mark, Kerry A. Bannon, with whom he lived, a sister, Mary Remington, thirteen loving grandchildren,Courtney, Michael, Kelly, Christopher, Erin, Charles, Taylor, Sarah, Mitchel, Sydney, Olivia, Kathleen and Liam, and five loving great-grandchildren, Cameron, Joshua, Haley, Hunter, and Maeve. He was the brother of the late Charles F. Lang and George J. Lang, Sr., and Rita Devine.The funeral will be held on Wednesday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion. Burial with military honors in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Tuesday, 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
