William M. McKenna

ProvidenceWilliam M. McKenna, 70, of Providence, passed away Tuesday morning at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Barbara A. (McLaughlin) McKenna for the past twenty three years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James P. and Anne F. (Motte) McKenna Jr. Bill was a Private Investigator for many years before retiring, and was also a Patrolman for the Providence Police Department from 1969 to 1978. In addition to his wife Barbara, he leaves three sons, William M. McKenna, II, Christopher W. McKenna and Justin J. McKenna; three brothers, James P. McKenna, III, Peter J. McKenna and Paul C. McKenna; two sisters, Anne Marie McKenna and Patricia S. Radka; and his beloved felines, Whiskers, Petie and Maggie. He was a brother of the late P. George McKenna. The funeral will be held Monday, at 9:00 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Pius V Church, Eaton Street. Providence. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Sunday,3:00 - 7:00 pm.
