Zaida D. Perez

Zaida D. (Hinton) Perez, 83, of Nicole Drive, Passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 peacefully with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Nelson Perez, who passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Greta (Johnson) Hinton.Prior to retirement, she was a co-owner of the former Zaida's Restaurant, in North Providence, with her husband for many years.Zaida was a communicant of the Pawtuxet Baptist Church, and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid bowler at the Bowling Academy in East Providence, and loved the Boston Red Sox. Most of all she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished her family.She leaves her three children, Betty-Jean Perez and Richard Perez, of Warwick, and Carolyn Pelletier of West Warwick; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was also the grandmother of the late Audrey-Lee Champagne.Her funeral will be held on Monday, at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rte. 117 - Exit 10 off I-95) Warwick, with a funeral service at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours, Sunday 4-7pm.
