Ann, affectionately referred to as Annie, was born in Delagua, CO on July 5, 1933 to Benedetto Milazzo (Macaluso) and Elva Macaluso. She was the eldest and only girl of eight children. Ann graduated from Aguilar High School and was a player on the girls’ basketball team. As a CNA at St. Mary Corwin hospital for more than 30 years, she worked in a field that allowed her to share the love of God with individuals who often had no one else. After moving to Pueblo in the 1950’s, Ann was a faithful member of the First Church of God In Christ (COGIC) and served as the Sunshine Band President for many years. She later transitioned to Evangelist COGIC. Ann was a licensed missionary and the pastor’s aide president who successfully supported her pastors.
Annie had a kind heart, loving smile, and warm embrace that reflected her love for the Lord. Every Sunday she would cook a mouthwatering spread as an expression of her abundant affection toward her loved ones. Saints, family and friends traveled from around the state to enjoy her delicious food and famous peach cobbler made with love. It was so good that her family would race to get to the doughy goodness at the bottom. Although her love for God and family came first she always made time to share and serve those in need. Many individuals profess that she was the person that led them to salvation.
Ann is survived by her brother, Frank Macaluso, her daughters, Ella Bowman and Bessie (Gary) Howell. Her grandchildren, Lydell (Tamara) Bowman, Nolan Bowman, Nataki Albrow and Asha Howell. Her great-grandchildren, Dominic (Meaghan), Porsha, Myah, Shaquin, Rayven, Nolan, Seth and Gary. Her great-great-grandchildren, Emma, Addison and Kai, as well as a host of extended relatives.
