Bernadette was my little sister.  She followed me around all of the time.  When my boy friend would come to pick me up for a date we could always depend on seeing her watching with those pretty, big green eyes .  It seemed like she was everywhere.  When she was small it was job to watch her, maybe she was just getting even.

As I sit here thinking of what to say, my thoughts are turned you and the family. I so wish I could be there in person. I remember as a little girl, thinking how pretty you were, and how I want to grow up to be like you. Not sure you knew that or not, but I always looked up to you. I am so grateful for the time my mom and dad and I were able to spend with you last summer. I loved going to Rye and visiting the ancestors on Memorial Day, and then a little shopping and lunch. You always had your home opened for family gatherings....and boy could you cook!!! YUMMMM! You continued the tradition of great food and hospitality from Grandma. Speaking of which, you were such a wonderful caregiver to Grandma...always making sure she had everything (and more)  she needed. I love the way you made sure everything was decorated according to the season. I remember the pinecone tree you had downstairs, all decked out for whatever holiday it was. Aunt Bernadette, I don't feel as if I lost an aunt, I feel as if I have gained a guardian angel. Until we meet again....Love always, you oldest niece...Terry Jeanette Lynch Carter

Saddened by one of our classmates passing so soon.  May peace be with all of the family in these dark times.  Bernadette suffers no more... may her soul Rest In Peace.

     So sorry for your loss.  I have found memories of you and Bernadette riding the Bronco bus.  She was such a sweet girl and a great companion for you.  Only time will heal.

My name is Lydia,  Bernie & I met through  the women's Elkette's Bowling League at Sunset Bowl which is now called Thursday Nite Ladies,  when my kids were very young.  They are now 25 & 28, so that should tell you how long I knew her.    What can I say?  She was a very beautiful lady inside & out.   I was very saddened to hear about the passing of such a dear friend.  She will be deeply missed.  I was the one who ordered the pumpkin rolls every Thanksgiving & Christmas from her daughter ( very delicious ).  I will miss that.  To the family, my condolences to all.  I myself just lost my mom in July of 2017 at the age of 67 from Cancer.  I do know the hurt you are all feeling.  May the Lord strengthen you & give you peace  & comfort at this time.

GG my grandma you will be deeply missed by all of us in the family I'm going to miss so much of us having to having our hair done having to have our makeup done before we go anywhere that was our biggest pet peeve. I'm going to miss us with our phone calls have catching up on our soap opera Days of Our Lives. You were with me towards the end and I am internally grateful for that. Thank you for waiting for me you will always be in every frog and every flower that I see and every country song that played that was our jam and I'm going to miss it I love you rest in peace GG. I am so happy that I gave you a great-granddaughter as well Brooke misses you deeply as well.

My grandma  G.G was an angel from above. My childhood was filled with her warmth and kindness. I can always recall when my mom had to work and I did not have school, I would off to G.G's house. It would be a fun-filled day of helping her tend to her beautiful garden, baking homemade chocolate chip cookies or turtle treats or turning her entire living room into a shopping center for my stuffed animals. If I had school, she would pick me up after it was let out and we would go back to her house and she would help me with my homework. As I got older and I could stay home alone, or my mom could pick me up from school, I saw G.G. less, but we would always be there for Tuesday night dinner. When life brought me down, those nights filled with homemade eggplant parmesan, roast with mashed potatoes, or tacos and burritos saved me.

G.G was not just my grandma, she was much more than that.
She was my rock, guardian angel, and savior.  My best friend and role model. 

When I look back on my life with her I find myself wanting to follow her kindness. No one was a stranger to her. She would gladly start up a conversation with anyone she met whether that was in a line at the neighborhood loaf and jug, or just a passerby. Every Friday I would call her, and I remember many times we would laugh and talk for hours.

I miss her so much, I just hope she happy wherever she is.

Aunt Bernie was a wonderful cook, who seemed to be able to whip up anything from whatever just happened to be in her refrigerator.  She made me always feel welcomed. 

As the youngest female in the family, Bernadette is our "baby sister".  When she was about 8 or 9 she was pretty much my shadow.  When Chuck would come to pick me up, he remember those big, green eyes peeking in the car window .  She was usually wearing multiple layers of interesting clothing, she always had a keen sense of style.  As adults, we shared the love of southwest jewelry and decorating.  Shopping at the little store on our way to Rye (after lunch, of course) was always funs. Actually, any kind of shopping was fun!
