Betty Higgins, 78, joined her late husband and beloved parents as she met her Savior on May 26, 2016. Betty left this world in the same manner that she lived her life – with grace, kindness, gentleness, and a strong faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ. This incredible and loving mother leaves her three children, Chuck (Sabine Lisec) Klipfel of Austria, Jim (Lisa) Klipfel of Colorado City, and Cynde (Jim) Bimbi of Delaware; 10 grandchildren, Cody (Maegan), Jenna (Max), Christen (John), Britta (Bryan), Colt (Courtney), Kayla (Tyler), Catelyn, Kelby (Lindsey), Clay (Bryli), and Cashion; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Paislee; dearest friend, Willard Klipfel; and three cousins, Norma Jean (Dub) Head, Linda (Ken) Hightower, and Susan (Scott) Parker. She is also survived by two step-children, Wendy Frisbie of Pueblo and Mitchell (Kandy) Higgins of Bayfield and several step- grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Charlie and Evelyn Green; brother, Shorty Green, and late husband, Ronald C. Higgins.
In addition to her family, which was the most precious and dear part of every breath she took, she dearly loved spending time with her animals. Through the years she loved and cared for horses, cows, sheep, chickens, goats, llamas, mules, fish, dogs, and cats – to name a few. There wasn’t a creature she didn’t love or would care for if given the opportunity.
Betty spent many happy years raising sheep and traveling with her late husband to shows and fairs across the country, stopping to sight-see anywhere along the way that may have caught their attention.
Her numerous dear friends were a testament to her kind and gentle nature. She loved them each and every one. Nothing was more sacred to Betty than her Christian faith and her church. She was an active member at Fellowship of the Rockies for several years where she served in several ministries. She truly loved each moment she spent at the church, with her church family, and especially with her Friday Life Group.
For those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 1207 Pueblo Boulevard Way, Pueblo, CO 81005.
