Bettye Laurena Hutto-Taylor

Laurena was born August, 20, 1948 in SC to the late Theron Conway Hutto and Doris Hamilton Hutto. She attended Rock Hill High School and Limestone College. She celebrated 25 years working for Allstate in Feb 2024 and was known for her kindness and cherishing the opportunity to rescue a customer in need.

She was proceeded in death by, husband Bobby Lane Taylor of Oakboro NC, son Michael Shawn Marthers of Locust NC and brother Conway “Hamilton" Hutto of Pageland SC.

Survivors include daughter-in-law Karen Marthers, step-son Davy Taylor (Ashley) Grandchildren Dalton Schlichting & Taya Schlichting; brother, Chris Hutto (Kay) sister Delura Bonetti (Joe) and sister-in-law Pam Hutto.

Laurena had a zest for life, she loved to go on and plan elaborate adventures with her family and friends. She loved giving back to her community, with the last venture being the president of the Wet Mountain Valley Saddle Club. This encompassed her love for giving back, the rodeo and horses. She never met a stranger, lived life to the fullest and never forgot to dance through any adversity.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Laurena in 2025, more details to come.
