

Bill was the youngest of three children. He spent his youth on the family farm in Grenville, New Mexico helping his dad farm which is where he developed his love of tractors.
Preceded in death by his parents, his brother Glen Howard Jones and granddaughter Katrina Michelle Nitka.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years Coeta Jones; daughters Debra Lynn (Paul) Nitka, Jeannie Carol (Kent) Pfeifer; grandchildren Nathaniel and Alisa Pfeifer, Tara, Matthew and Samuel Nitka; sister Edith Eloise Arrington of Littlefield, Texas; sister in-law Ruth Dougherty of Booker, Texas, Sharon Cunningham of Sacramento, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill joined the marines in October of 1956 and got a hardship discharge in April 1957 to go home to take care of his father who had become ill.
Bill met and married Coeta in 1958. He got a job at the CF&I and they moved to Pueblo where they had their two daughters. As a family they enjoyed camping, picnics and hiking. He also enjoyed gardening. Bill grew the best tomatoes and cucumbers. He was always quick to share his garden bounty with friends, family and neighbors.
Bill and Coeta spent their retirement years sitting in the breakfast nook of their home watching the variety of birds that came by to enjoy the bird seed and water that Bill always put out for them. Bill was happiest when his family was all together.
At his request, funeral services will be private. Burial will take place at Imperial Funeral Home.
