Charles John Malouff Esq.

Charles John Malouff, aged 76, of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away on August 20, 2023. Born in Las Animas, Colorado to Abe and Elizabeth Malouff, Charles grew up to be a devoted family man and an esteemed member of the Southern Colorado community.

Charles graduated from Southern Colorado State College (now CSU Pueblo) with a degree in accounting and later earned his law degree from Denver University. Over a remarkable career spanning 40 years, he served the people of Southern Colorado with unwavering commitment and integrity. He began as a deputy district attorney before venturing into private practice, where he continued to champion the cause of justice and advocated for the people of Pueblo.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charles will be remembered for his humor, wisdom, and love for his family. He was an avid sports fan, as a devoted, yet critical fan, of the Nuggets, Rockies, and Broncos. Charles also had a passion for politics and the news, always keeping abreast of current events. He loved to travel to big cities and frequent jazz and comedy clubs.

He was predeceased by his parents, Abe and Elizabeth Malouff, his brother Robert Malouff, and his son-in-law Michael Matthies. He is survived by his significant other, Cathy Herr; his children, Rochelle Malouff Matthies, Andrew Malouff, Marissa Malouff, and son-in-law Johnny Escobedo; his grandson, Quinton Malouff, and Quinton’s mother Jennifer Trujillo; step-grandchildren, Erica Matthies and Isabelle Matthies; his brothers, Ted Malouff and John Malouff; his nieces and a nephew; the Escobedo and Herr families; and his beloved cat Lillie.

Charles's impact on those he loved and the community he served will not be forgotten. His legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service honoring Charles's life will be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Pueblo. Please contact Imperial Funeral Home for details. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in Charles's name.
